Colorful Sunday

I had a relaxing Sunday with my boys this past weekend. It is always great to get as much quality time as possible with my little family. They are my priority above all after all! Work is amazing lately but I always make sure to put my two favorite people first. We went put for a casual and fun lunch at one of our favorite spots and then visited friends, my kind of Sunday!

Anytime you add heels to any outfit it totally takes it that step further. So next time you want to be casual but chic, wear your favorite casual outfit, add some fab sunnies and comfortable heels and you are good to go!
He aqui mi ejemplo de tal.

Little Blush Dress

Last Tuesday I attended a super fab event, the Fashion & Beauty Week show at the gorgeous Venetian in Garfield, NJ. It was an evening gala and I wanted to keep it simple but elegant. For those of you who know me, I am 5' tall... I love to say 5'1" just because it looks and sounds better, but I am really just 5 feet even... super shorty over here! That's why I love love love my heels! So with that said, I wanted to wear a dress that hugged my body and didn't make me look short and frumpy, I wore a knee length rouged blush-color dress. I actually purchased this dress for another event in H&M a couple of years ago. But it is such a classic dress that you can wear over and over...

Dress: H&M (last year) | Jacket: Zara | Clutch: old | Pumps: Guess | Jewelry: Lola Blue

It was such a beautiful evening... the sun was just gorgeous. I wore this cute tweed jacket I bought on sale at Zara (of course) for just $30! It was definitely a steal! And it matched perfectly with my dress... You can read everything about the event HERE.

Fashion & Beauty Week 2013

I had the pleasure of attending this year's Fashion & Beauty Week event at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ this past Tuesday night. The event raises funds and awareness for the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), fundraiser and fashion... my kind of night! The venue was beautiful, the food amazing (and so much of it), the entertainment; the best... and best of all the DRESSES, exquisite.

The ultra-chic 2013 runway line-up included some of the designers featured at the Fashion& Beauty Week kick-off mixer held on October 4; Melissa Odabash, Naven, and Sue Wong. Other notable names that have been added to the star-studded line-up include Monique Lhuillier, Jay Godfrey, THEIA, BCBG, Adrian Alicea and JS Collections. Here are some of my favorite dresses of the night:

It was a beautiful evening filled with exquisite gowns. I am so happy I got to finally meet my fellow blog Alicia from La Fashion Chica! Such a sweetheart... thanks for the invite! I had a great time.

I will be doing a separate post on my dress of the night but here is a little preview! More photos to come on the next post... So keep a look out for that one. xo, E.

Roses + a Splash of Violets

When it comes to wardrobe pieces, skirts are my ultimate fave. They have been since I can remember!
I believe that we all have or should have one body part that we love the most about ourselves and for me that is my legs. So now you know why I love dresses and skirts! Not only are they uber-feminine and sexy but when worn correctly and most importantly comfortably, the right outfit can make you feel like a million bucks. Any time I am in a skirt or a dress I am my most comfortable, I love feeling feminine and
a little fancy... that is what a skirt does to me. What's your favorite body part?

I am so happy I purchased this sandals as soon as they were out, they were sold out so quickly!

I wore this outfit to a baby shower. Anyone that has been to a Latino baby shower knows that it will not just be a little brunch event... it's a party! So I was dressed for the occasion in my newest and favorite little skirt!

Celebrity Inspired: Jennifer Lopez

As a fashion blogger I take a lot of my inspiration for when it comes to my wardrobe, from my fabulous Latina celebs.  If there is one celebrity that all Latina’s look up to when it comes to style, that would be Jennifer Lopez. Her versatility in styles, her sex appeal, elegance, chic and fierce fashion is to die for. She can wear just about anything and look fabulous every time. She looks on point wherever she goes; whether that’s the park with her twins, shaking her famous derriere on stage, attending the best  fashion shows and of course the acclaimed  red carpet. The gorgeous 40-something year old Latina is flawless.
She is better than ever right now. As a Latina, I am very proud to say I look up to her for style
inspiration and this look was no exception.
I love this simple but chic Valentino dress Lopez wore to the Valentino Spring 2013 Paris Fashion Week Show. I love the structure of the dress and the ankle straps on her pumps, very feminine but still a bit sexy. When it came to recreating the look I wanted to keep a little of my own style as well, so I wore these black suede pumps that have the silver pointed toes, which I love!  I was in love with this dress from the minute I saw it. The way it hugged my body made me feel very confident and chic.

Dress: H&M | Clutch: JCPenney (old) | Shoes: XSRE | Earrings: Lola Blue, the closet

I enjoyed putting this look together and especially loved my total amount spent for this look. I purchased my dress on sale at H&M for just $20. My shoes were the steal of all deals at just $10 at XSRE. The clutch I’ve had for a long time from JC Penney, for about $20. My total for the look including my earrings is $64.
As a fashion blogger I love to recreate looks inspired by my favorite celebrities. Especially when buying key pieces for amazing prices. It is very important to shop smart when on a budget.
For me key pieces in my closet are long time investments.
You can recreate different looks with the same pieces for different seasons and events.

Pretty Little Spring Dress

My favorite season is just around the corner. Spring has got to be the prettiest season, the blooming of the flowers, the crisp fresh air, the kids playing outside... and the most important ; ) the gorgeous spring dresses I can wear! I wore this dress to a bridal shower I attended last Sunday. It was the perfect day for a dress like this, I love the colors and the open back.

Earrings/Aretes: Lola Blue | Dress/Vestido: Topshop | Shoes/Zapatos: Zara
Bracelets/Pulseras: Lola Blue | Watch/Reloj: NY&Co.

I am in complete and utter love with my shoes! How lady-like and fab are they? Zara never disappoints.
Estoy mas que enamorada de estos zapatos. Super femeninos y fabulosos! Zara nunca me queda mal.

I purchased this watch for super cheap, there was a great sale at NY&Co., if I am not mistaken it was $12!

This is one of my favorite dresses in my closet right now. I felt super pretty in it and still a little sexy with the open back. I can't wait to wear it again some time this summer.
